THE OPPORTUNITY
The Temple is seeking an Executive Director to accelerate our momentum with membership, engagement, and giving. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, positive, creative, strategic leader with amazing implementation skills to successfully guide our 700-family congregation.
Through positive relationships with Board members, volunteers, and members, this person will guide the team to navigate fiscal, operational, marketing, and human resources imperatives with strong diplomatic skills and the ability to communicate and connect with diverse populations.
This role reports to the Temple President and directly supervises a team of 12 in administration, development, communication, religious school, preschool and facilities, with a total staff of 72.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational: responsibility for five major events per year plus all secondary events; define and update objective(s) for every event; follow workflow process and marketing plan for each event to ensure smooth implementation
Financial: meet or exceed The Temple budget each fiscal year (revenue and expense)
Human Resources: ensure each team member delivers on their weekly goals and tasks
Marketing – define event attendance objectives and marketing plan strategies
Temple Team: implement Member Mission, Creed, Rally Statement and Team Values
Projects – ensure all projects are planned, organized and completed per timeline

QUALIFICATIONS
Achieves with process, action planning and follow through; able to prioritize and meet deadlines; creative, resourceful and proactive problem-solver; calm under pressure; personable, professional, diplomatic and when necessary, direct; sound financial and tech skills; altruistic for the organization; practice full confidentiality; flexible with time.
Leadership experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; familiarity with Salesforce a plus; familiarity with Jewish rituals, customs, and holidays, or a willingness to learn.

The Temple was established by the consolidation of congregations Adath Israel (1843) and Brith Sholom (1880) as a center for Reform Judaism. For nearly 180 years, The Temple has brought meaning and insight into the lives of our members, the Jewish community, and the city at large as an active and vocal participant.
